"You built me up, you gave me all. You gave me all that you had, and now I am home. [...] I am strong." My Love - Sia
I've been listening to this song nonstop in the last few days, and just recently I started picking up on the lyrics. I heard these lines, and thought of what GLW did for me. It is all my feelings exactly. Thank you GLW, thank you.

"Don't ask, don't tell"

Sunday December 19, 2010

This morning I woke to this article, and I found it very interesting so I thought I'd share it with you. I feel like it is just the beginning of a long line of breakthroughs under human rights, especially for gay rights.

"It is time to recognize that sacrifice, valor and integrity are no more defined by sexual orientation than they are by race or gender, religion or creed." -Barack Obama

On a Special Day in History

December 10th, 2010

HAPPY UDHR DAY!

I hope everyone celebrated by wearing their lovely GLW shirt - I know I did. I wore my shirt all day at school, and I'll probably wear it some more tonight to the festival of lights in Olde Mistick Village.

"Where after all do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home - so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any map of the world. Yet they are the world of the individual person: The neighborhood he lives in; the school or college he attends; the factory, farm or office where he works. Such are the places where every man, woman, and child seeks equal justice, equal opportunity, equal dignity without discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world." - Eleanor Roosevelt
